Beter worden met een Internationaal Meester (IM) aan je zijde
Analyseer je partijen met onze toernooicoach. Iedere week een IM op de club die je helpt de beste zet te vinden. Bij ons helpen schakers elkaar.
- We organiseren trainings voor volwassenen, zodat je je ratingdoelen haalt.
- Ook mag je kosteloos deelnemen aan de online trainingen van Kennemer Combinatie.
- Speel mee in een team tegen andere clubs. Iedereen mag meedoen aan de SGA-competitie (regionaal, doordeweeks) en aan de KNSB-competitie (landelijk, op zaterdagen)
- Speel in de aparte stilteruimte, zonder afleiding.
- Ook in de meeste schoolvakanties!
Een club waar je je meteen thuis voelt
Een club met een echt clubgevoel. Onze gastheer heet je welkom. Maak nieuwe vrienden onder een drankje en een bitterbal.
- Een interne competitie voor alle niveau’s. Van je allereerste partij tot 2200+-niveau. Prijzen per ratingcategorie: iedereen maakt kans!
- Ruimte voor snelschaak bij de speciale rapid bonanza en blitz bonanza avonden.
- Twee keer per jaar een groot feest: het VAStival.
- Blijf op de hoogte via onze nieuwsbrief, de VAS-app, of onze WhatsApp community (optioneel).
- Een groot en enthousiast vrijwilligersbestand, waarin we elkaar actief ondersteunen.
Een club met geschiedenis
VAS is de oudste schaakclub van Nederland, opgericht op 19 september 1822. Meer dan 200 jaar geleden. In die tijd is VAS 23 keer landskampioen geworden. We zijn trots op onze oud-leden, zoals wereldkampioenen Emanuel Lasker en Max Euwe, maar ook Henry Bird, bekend van de 1.f4-opening. (Meer lezen? Zie onze beknopte geschiedenis.)
Improve with the support of an International Master (IM)
Analyse your games with our tournament coach. Every week an IM at the club who helps you find the best moves. At our club, all chess players help and support each other.
- We organize trainings for adults, so that you can reach your rating goals.
- You can take part in the online trainings of Kennemer Combinatie for free.
- Play in a team against other clubs. Everyone can participate in the SGA-competition (regional, during the week) and the KNSB-competition (national, on saturdays).
- Play in a dedicated quiet room, to ensure full concentration.
- Also open during most school holidays!
A club where you’ll feel at home immediately
A club with a real club feeling. Our host welcomes you. Make new friends by a drink and a bitterbal.
- Our internal competition is open to all levels. From your first game, until 2200+ level. There’s prizes for each rating bracket: anyone can win!
- Play quick games at our special rapid bonanza and blitz bonanza evenings.
- Dedicated party twice a year: the VAStival.
- Stay up to date with our mailings, the VAS-app, or our optional WhatsApp community.
- A large and enthusiastic community of volunteers, where we actively support each other.
A club with history
VAS is the oldest chess club of the Netherlands, founded at 19 september 1822, over 200 years ago. During that time, VAS won the national team championship 23 times. We proudly celebrate our former members, including world champions Emanuel Lasker and Max Euwe, but also Henry Bird, known for the 1. f4 opening. (Want to learn more? Read our short history.)
